On the mystery of the multi-muon flux at the TeV cosmic-ray energy range

Current Monte Carlo simulations do not provide a good description of the muon component extensive air showers. Many shower experiments report discrepancies between their data and predictions, ranging from TeV scale up to highest energies. In these proceedings, we address seasonal variation multi-muon events observed by NOvA Near Detector (ND). For our studies, use general-purpose code FLUKA treat transport interaction air-shower particles in atmosphere other media. Our design considers multilayered layered underground approximated match ND location detector geometry. atmospheric model uses densities for winter summer calculated temperature geopotential information pressure levels given European Center Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) datasets situ. Understanding flux at cosmic ray high-energy range may lead better production mechanisms ultra-high-energy addition, it can help improve future codes or hint new physics processes interactions.
